First Thoughts

ThingMatch connects people who use the same product.

Many products have shortcomings and problems that cause everyday people difficulties large and small on a daily basis. Some of these can even threaten health and safety.

Ralph Nader failed to institute a continuing model for product watchdogging. Big companies have tended toward customer responsiveness but this is inhibited by the inherent profit model.

The Food and Drug Administration and other regulation agencies do not have the resources to monitor products sufficiently and satisfactorily.

So the obvious question is whether there can be an effective check on product offerings to represent and maximize the consumer interest.

Our founding hypothesis is that technology can advance the consumer interest by putting the users of products in direct contact with each other. This model requires many thousands of discussion groups and user-to-user contact and communication where they desire it. We have implemented this model and stand prepared to offer users intelligent access to the information they want using our proprietary IssueFinder technology.

Based on our own market research this endeavor should not be designed primarily as a money maker in order to achieve greatest success. In this regard it shares market strategy with CraigsList.
Constructive Consumers Avoid an Entitled Attitude

Many consumer stories illustrate cold and inefficient customer service systems, policies, and people-that is a primary problem. But it is also the case that consumers themselves can add to the problem. This is especially easy when a consumer becomes frustrated and emotional after having been treated badly and unfairly.

Here is an article that might help keep things positive:
